MNJTF Troops Kill 10 Terrorists, Suicide Bombers

Bernard Femi

The ISWAP group seems to be in the news lately. The Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) has said that troops of the MNJTF and national troops were recently able to kill 10 terrorists of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Baga, Borno State.

Also, the spokesman of the MNJTF, Colonel Timothy Antigha, narrated that the terrorists met their Waterloo earlier this week during a surprise dawn attack at about 5:30 am. They had little or no time to retaliate and were defeated easily by the MNJTF.

Colonel Timothy said about 30 members of the ISWAP terrorists made an attempt to attack the troops’ defensive location in Baga. The troops, who were vigilant, already saw them from afar and rendered their efforts useless. In the process of neutralizing the terrorists, 10 were killed and about four suicide bombers were neutralized.

Some others escaped with gunshot wounds, as they could see blood-stained tracks. He added: “Assorted arms and ammunition were impounded from other terrorists who fled in confusion.

“Unfortunately, a soldier paid the supreme price, while five others sustained varying injuries and have been taken for medical attention.”

Antigha also said, “The MNJTF acting with national forces will continue to pursue action necessary for the achievement of its mandate in the Lake Chad Basin.
