During a meeting with South Western traditional rulers, President Muhammadu Buhari vowed to severely deal with Nigerians perpetrating evil in the country. He assured the traditional rulers that the security challenges being faced in that region is being treated with utmost priority by his administration.
In response to an address by the group of traditional rulers, led by Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife, President Buhari, stated that his administration would ensure the prosecution of law breakers, enforcement of laws and secure an atmosphere of peace and tranquility for all law abiding citizens wherever they choose to reside.
“This is not only a message of hope but a call to action to all of us as we seek ways to secure our country. On our part, as the federal government, we are ready to deal decisively with anyone that is fomenting this spate of criminal activities by every means necessary. We intend to deal severely with those evil Nigerians inciting violence for political ends,” the Ooni of Ife said during the courtesy visit to the state house.
He revealed that the partnership of the federal government with the state government with regards to equipping the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) with advanced technology and proper equipment to tackle cases of insecurity across the nation will continue to be upheld.
He also added that his administration intends to install CCTVs across the highways and several strategic locations for effective monitoring of suspicious activities in hidden places.
