The Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has sent a condolence message to a Commissioner in the Abia State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ASPOPADEC), Hon. Adiele Ekeke, who lost his wife and two children in a ghastly car accident on Sunday afternoon.
Governor Ikpeazu sent the message through a statement released to the media by his Chief Press Secretary, Onyebuchi Ememanka, on Monday. The governor expressed deep sadness at the news of the death of the commissioner's wife and two children.
“Governor Ikpeazu is deeply saddened by this tragedy and prays the Almighty God, the great comforter to console Hon. Ekeke and grant him the fortitude to bear this great loss. He prays the good Lord to intervene and save the life of the child who is battling with her life presently,” Ememanka read to newsmen.
According to the statement, the wife and children were travelling along the Enugu-Port Harcourt road, around Okigwe, that fateful afternoon when their vehicle got involved in a ghastly motor accident. The lone survivor of the accident, the statement read, was the third child, who was at the intensive care unit in a hospital in Okigwe as at the time of filing this report.
