There were reports of a violent clash between the Hausa community and the Yoruba community in Oke Odo market, Alimosho LGA, Lagos State, yesterday.

According to eyewitnesses, the heavy clash between some Yoruba and Hausa youths  broke out on Sunday afternoon around 1pm, but so far, the real cause of the clash is unclear. A source in the community claims that Hausa traders started the fight with 'Omonile' Yoruba boys in the area.

The clash led to loss of property as well as foodstuff worth millions and several people were injured.

Oba Akinyolu, the reverend ruler of the Oke Odo community, has made efforts to calm the situation. According to sources, the Oba has called the police to settle the feud.
