The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress and former Governor of Lagos State, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has told the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to make the welfare of every Lagosian his priority.

He made this statement on Friday, when he advised the governor to make the cornerstone of his administration programmes easily accessible to the people in the state.

During a retreat organised for members of the State Executive Council and Permanent Secretaries, Sanwo-Olu’s Chief Press Secretary, Gboyega Akosile, read in his statement the advice Tinubu passed on to him. The former governor urged the current governor to work hard to achieve the promises and programmes of the party in the state.

The statement read:

“Many books on leadership and administration have been written by great thinkers which focused on talent of individuals.

“But is leadership about talent alone? I say no. Talent can only give you the opportunity to shine and get recognition among your peers. But it cannot pave the way for success. Talent without character is an effort to nowhere,” he said.

The Minister for Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, who was also a former governor of the state, was present at the event.
