Notorious kidnap kingpin, Hamisu Bala Wadume, made some shocking revelations about his crimes after series of interrogations from the police.

Wadume alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) had used him as a political thug for electoral campaigns.

The ruling party has, however, refuted that claim on their official Twitter handle. They denied having any involvement whatsoever with the kidnapper and termed his allegations as outrageous and concocted lies.

They added that the political party has never allocated any sum of money to any thug.

Read the party’s statement in full:

"It is expected that the alleged kidnapper, having come face to face with justice, would throw whatever he could lay his hands on into the fray. In any case, our party did not have budget for thugs.

"Unlike the period when the ruling party dipped hands into the public treasury to fund political campaigns and elections, APC had to rely on its own resources. Even if we had all the money, we would never allocate money for kidnappers and murderers.

"That era ended with PDP. Perhaps he can name whoever gave him money. Definitely, it was not APC. From his purported confession, he claimed to be a PDP member before he went on to contest under another party."

Wadume had earlier revealed he had abandoned the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to become a member of APC where he was paid N13 million to ensure the party won the presidential and senatorial elections held in Ibi town, Taraba State.

A picture of Wadume and APC former governorship candidate for Taraba State, Sani Abubakar Danladi, has surfaced online.
