The operatives of the Nigeria Police and soldiers on Wednesday, September 18, barricaded the Lagos office of online news platform, Sahara Reporters owned by Omoyele Sowore who is currently in detention.

The security men have partially taken over the premises with many prevented from entering the office located at GRA Ikeja, while those inside were ordered to vacate the building.

The new development, according to informed sources, is a directive from the federal government to further hit hard at the incarcerated publisher.

Sowore has been in the custody of the Department of State Service since last month when he was arrested at a Lagos hotel following a call for nationwide protest tagged, #RevolutionNow.

Further checks confirmed that another protest scheduled for Wednesday (today) is a result of presence of security men at Sowore’s office.
