Governor Obaseki goes tough, fires all aides.
The Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, on Thursday ordered the sack of all his Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants.
The Secretary to the State Government, Barr. Osarodion Ogie, made the disclosure in a statement addressed to the media.
Confirming the development, Ogie said that the move was in line with efforts to recognize the governance structure in order to enhance efficiency in service delivery to Edo people.
He noted that fresh appointments would be announced in the next 30 days, adding that the removal of all the appointees has nothing to do with the crisis plaguing the state.
“They are hereby directed to hand over all government property and documents in their possession to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government,” he said.
Recall that the aides were appointed from each of the 192 wards in the state in the last quarter of 2017.
