Buhari, New Economic Advisory Council Members Meet
President Muhammadu Buhari, 24 hours after the presentation of the 2020 budget to the National Assembly on Wednesday, met the newly appointed Economic Advisory Council members.
The closed door meeting which had strictly members of the team held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The new team chaired by Prof Doyin Salami has replaced the Economic Management Team led by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
Femi Adesina, the president‘s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity while briefing newsmen after the meeting said the thrust of the first encounter between the team and Buhari, deliberated on several factors such as:
Fiscal analysis, economic growth and a range of internal and global economic issues working with the relevant cabinet members and heads of monetary and fiscal agencies.
“The EAC will have monthly technical sessions as well as scheduled quarterly meetings with the President.
“The Chairman may, however, request for unscheduled meetings if the need arises,’’, Femi Adesina said.
