Maina and son to spend 14 days in EFCC's custody.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Wednesday secured the permission of the Federal High Court, Bwari, Abuja, to detain the embattled former Chairman of Pension Reform Task Team, Mr Abdulrasheed Maina, and his son, Faisal, until the conclusion of the ongoing trial.
Having received the approval of the court, the commission is now empowered to remand Maina and his son in custody for 14 days.
The court, in its ruling, maintained that the order was accepted after the review of the anti-graft agency's application before the court.
Maina and his son were last week nabbed by the authorities of the Department of State Service at an Abuja hotel following the request of the EFCC.
They were thereafter handed over to the commission for trial on allegations bordering on fraud and money laundering.
