Supreme Court To Hear Atiku’s Appeal On Wednesday

Eludoyin Oluwanisola

Atiku Abubakar and his party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), filed an appeal which will be heard on Wednesday by the Supreme Court.

The PDP and Atiku claimed that the decision of the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) on September 11 in their cross-appeal was unsatisfactory.

They faulted the PEPC for stating that Buhari did not need to attach his academic qualifications to the form CF 001 submitted to INEC.

The All Progressives Party and Buhari, in their cross-appeal, asked the Supreme Court to reconsider accepting evidences from witnesses, including Segun Showunmi, Atiku’s spokesperson, David Njorga, and a data expert, Joseph Gbenga.

The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP), after resolving five issues filed in favour of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and APC, mentioned that it took so long to get the attention of a panel to hear a cross-appeal and that the verdict should be done in favour of the PDP, in order to protect the people’s democracy.
