The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has ordered for the ongoing Ibadan Circular-Road project, which was awarded by the immediate past government led by Isiaka Abiola Ajimobi, to be stopped.

Governor Makinde, who visited the site of the road construction during the week to see how far the project had gone, noticed some irregularities in the project.

After a tour of the Ibadan Circular-Road project site located at the Lagos-Ibadan bypass, the governor expressed disappointment at the level of job done so far on the site. He added that he was not satisfied with what he had heard and with the level of work done as well as the amount that was said to be budgeted for the construction of the road.

It was alleged that the road project was awarded to ENL Consortium Limited, a Nigerian-owned construction firm. The road project was said to be awarded for a whopping 67 billion naira by the Ajimobi administration in 2016.

Recall that it was earlier in the news that Governor Makinde had visited places of worship in Iwo road axis that would be affected by the new Oyo road project. The governor was hailed for the step he took ahead of the demolition of the religious places.
