Sowore To Commence Hunger Strike

Following the refusal of the Federal Government to release #RevolutionNow convener, Omoyele Sowore, the Sahara Reporters Publisher is set to embark on a hunger strike to protest the violation of his human rights.

As at press time, we were yet to ascertain when he would begin the strike but the decision is to lament the DSS’ refusal to free him, making his bail process difficult.

You will recall that Femi Falana had earlier threatened to sue the Department of State Services (DSS) to court for allegedly refusing to release Sowore who has since met his bail conditions.

The human rights lawyer, in a statement credited to him, said this is the second time the security agency will refuse to release Sowore after the Federal High court in Abuja ordered his release alongside Olawale Adebayo, aka Mandate.
