Imo State Governor, Emeka Ihedioha, has lost one of his newly appointed commissioners in the state, Tony Okere.

Okere, who was the Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, died barely a few weeks after his appointment.

According to the media aide to the governor, Okere gave up the ghost after severe complications from a stroke.

He added that Okere collapsed at one of the State Executive Council (EXCO) meetings and was revived, but passed away soon after.

The deceased was a former member of the House of Representatives, representing Ohaji /Egbema, Oguta, and Oru West Federal Constituency some years ago.

The late Okere was said to have held government appointments in the state before his appointment as commissioner.
