The former Special Assistant to ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, Femi Fani-Kayode, has revealed those allegedly sponsoring Boko Haram in Nigeria.

The former aviation minister alleged that Islamic extremists and top terrorist groups, including ISIS and Al-Qaeda, even Islamic countries like Saudi Arabia and Turkey, are all key sponsors of the terrorist sect, Boko Haram. The sect has been a major cause for concern in the North-East region of the country for over a decade now.

In a tweet on his official Twitter handle, the 58-year-old politician urged the Nigerian government to enlist the help of the United States (US) President, Donald Trump, and Israel in dealing with the insurgents before they get a strong grip of the country and Islamize it.

He wrote: “Turkey, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia covertly support Boko Haram and the Fulani herdsmen. ISIS, Al Qaeda, and Islamic Jihad do so openly.

“What is slowly unfolding in our country is alarming and frightful. Nigeria needs the support of @realDonaldTrump and Israel for what lies ahead.”

The details on those funding the terrorist group in Nigeria remain unclear. Fani-Kayode, however, has pinpointed certain terrorist organisations and countries funding the terrorist sect. So far, there has been no backlash from any of the countries mentioned above.

In the space of 10 years, Boko Haram has claimed the lives of over 10,000 people while kidnapping young girls in the North, including the Chibok girls and Dapachi girls.
