Lawan Pays Late Uwajumogu’s Family A Condolence Visit

President of the Senate, Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan, yesterday, paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Senator Benjamin Uwajumogu with a delegation of other members of the Senate at their home in Abuja.

The wife of the late Senator, Mrs Helen Uwajumogu, received the delegation which comprised of the Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, and some other principal officers of the Senate.

The President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan, who spoke during the visit said, “This delegation is a delegation from the Senate, and I want to assure this family that we will be in this grief with you."

He added that the Senate represents Nigerians. "The responsibility of ensuring that our people are protected, supported, and promoted will continue to be our guiding light and ideal, because this is something that he worked very hard for and believed in," he said.

He further urged that they should be informed of the burial arrangement. "Please let us be informed of the arrangements,” he said.

Lawan added that all through Uwajumogu’s sojourn in the Senate, he remained committed to serving Nigerians and its citizens.
