The Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, has issued a warning to his cabinet members to be cautious of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

Governor Ortom made this known while signing the 2020 appropriation bill into law. He emphasized particularly on the need to justify the distribution of resources between all agencies, ministries, and departments within the State.

He also mentioned that his government will ensure stringent adherence to the proper policy process, and any appointee found guilty of crimes will be made to face justice without leniency.

The Benue State Governor went on to commend the efforts of the National Assembly which sacrificed its recess in order to pass the national budget early.

He then promised that the budget will be properly implemented and in due time to give the people of Benue what they have long deserved.

Ortom also maintained that all government officials within the state will be up to the task as no one will be found sitting idle in offices.

He also stated that all projects will be closely monitored to ensure proper delivery, and he will also welcome suggestions and constructive criticism from the people.
