The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, and Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, on Monday, were at Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, to inspect the ongoing Lagos-Ibadan rail line project.
Rotimi Amaechi who posted updates on the inspection via his twitter handle, wrote: “Today (Monday), Oyo State Governor is accompanying us on the monthly inspection of work on the Lagos-Ibadan rail line. We are going the whole nine yards."
He noted that the mega station which runs from Ebute Metta to Apapa and all the way to Ibadan has a large chunk of the rail line in Oyo State.
Uncertain on the date of completion of the project, Amaechi wrote: “Looking at the state of work in Apapa, completing the project in April doesn’t seem feasible, especially the extension of the rail line to the seaport."
However, he assured tat he and his team will double their efforts to complete the project and meet set targets.
