Sanwo-Olu Orders Arrest Of Pipeline Vandals

The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has commiserated with families of the victims of the pipeline explosion that rocked Abule Egba Town of Lagos, while ordering for the arrest of the vandals involved.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Gboyega Akosile, on Monday, Governor Sanwo-Olu expressed sadness over the incident, which was reported to be as a result of the nefarious activities of vandals.

At least five persons are said to have died from the explosion while, 33 trucks, 11 houses, three cars, three tricycles, and 17 shops were razed in the inferno.

The governor said his government would not fold its arms and allow unscrupulous elements in the society to continue to wreck havoc in the State.

Therefore, he ordered security agencies to ensure that those behind the unfortunate incident were brought to justice,

Sanwo-Olu issued a stern warning to the youth to desist from criminal acts such as pipeline vandalism and destruction of other sensitive installations across the State. He noted that such activities are putting innocent lives at risk.
