A total of three persons were on Sunday confirmed to have contracted the deadly Lassa Fever virus in Kogi State, with one of the victims dead.
The Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Lokoja, which confirmed the report, said all three cases were discovered in the last week
The Head of Clinical Services (HCSs) FMC Lokoja, Dr Bernard Ododo, disclosed this in an interview with journalists in Lokoja, the state capital.
Ododo said “Five suspected cases reported at the hospital in the last one week; three tested positive, of which one died.
”Two surviving cases have already been transferred to the Lassa Fever Management Centre at the Irua Specialist Hospital in Edo State.
”The remaining two are still awaiting their results from the NCDC laboratory in Abuja,” Ododo said.
