Many Nigerians Have Not Felt Our Impact - Yemi Osibanjo

Yusuf Dotun

The Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osibanjo, has said the government hasn’t touched a lot of lives who needs help across the country.

Osibanjo said this in Lagos at the unveiling of Airtel Touching Lives Season 5. He said that although a few Nigerians have benefited from social investment programmes of the government, the government is still yet to touch a lot of people that need help.

“We are feeding over 9million children in 34 states across different public schools. Over 500,000 young men and women are also under our N-Power Programme. But we are still far from touching the majority of those who need help,” he said.

He commended Airtel for its wonderful acts of giving and caring.

“Truly what separates humankind from all other creatures is the capacity for kindness,” Osibanjo said.

The Vice President commended Segun Ogunsanya and his team at Airtel for touching lives over the past five years.

Prof Yemi Osibanjo noted that the work of socially-conscious organizations like Airtel is so vital in bridging the huge gap between what governments can do and what is left to be done.
