Buhari Orders A Panel Set Up To Address US Visa Ban

A committee has been set up by President Muhammadu Buhari to study and address the extended US visa ban list on which Nigeria and five other countries have been added.

The six countries were included by the US President, Donald Trump, on Friday, among other nations facing strict travel restrictions, blocking the influx of migrants from Africa's most populous nation, Nigeria.

The committee set up by the President will be headed by the minister of interior, Raufu Aregbesola.

They will work with the United State Government, Interpol, and other stakeholders to ensure all updates passed across are properly implemented.

This was revealed in a statement from the Statehouse on Saturday.

Special adviser to the President on media, Mr Femi Adesina, signed the statement where he noted that "Nigeria remains committed to maintaining productive relations with the US and its international allies especially on matters of global security."
