Hakeem Odumosu, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, on Wednesday, denied the rumours making the rounds that the police command is planning to unleash a protest on Thursday and Friday nights across the state.
The action, according to the rumours, is to forestall peace and harmony in the state following the ban on Okada operators which has created upheavals in the last few days.
DSP Bala Elkana, the Lagos Police Spokesman, while reacting to the story, noted that the information is not only false but mischievous, calculated towards creating fear in the minds of the people.
“Lagosians are enjoined to disregard the message and treat it as fake news.”
“Avoid the temptation of forwarding such mischievous message,” she said.
Elkana added that the Lagos CP was committed to providing a safe and secure environment for Lagos residents.
