A Federal High Court sitting in Kaduna on Thursday fixed February 24th and 25th for the trial of Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky and his wife, Zenat.

The embattled cleric is the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria.

Justice Gideon Kurada, during the hearing, adjourned the case to allow the defendants to appear in court to take their plea.

The defendants’ lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN), had earlier informed the court of the failed health of Zenat, as the reason for her absence in court.

The couple is standing trial for crimes bordering on culpable homicide, unlawful assembly and disruption of the public peace, among other charges.
