Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has directed that all campaign billboards used for November 2019 election to be removed.
In a statement signed by his chief press secretary, Mr Mohammed Onogu, the governor also ordered the removal of stickers, handbills, posters of the previous election campaign in the state.
“The governor also ordered that campaign billboards erected or placed in offices and other public institutions in the state should be removed as well.
” The directive takes effect from Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020 and anyone found with such campaign or election related materials after this announcement would face the law, ” the statement said.
The Governor directed all appropriate authorities including the Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO), the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to enforce it immediately.
