The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa protested on Friday against the Supreme Court’s abrogation of David Lyon’s election as governor-elect for the state.
The protesters marched around the state APC secretariat and the popular Tombia junction to the government house and stadium, venue set for the inauguration for the new governor.
The Supreme Court had abrogated Lyon’s election, claiming that his Deputy Degi Ereminyo submitted forged documents.
Mr Alabo Martins, Secretary of APC in the state, said, “We have to tell the whole world that we will not agree until Lyon is sworn in.
“This is a peaceful protest and we are doing it to ensure that state has good governance,” Martins said.
