The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) on Monday announced its full backing of Lagos State Government policy that banned okada (commercial motor cycles) in some areas of the state.

Rev Supo Ayokunle, the President of the association, in his statement said, the ban is highly supported by the body.

Ayokunle praised Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for the policy, stating that some terrorists operate on motorbikes.

“It is the same okada that Boko Haram used to bomb places.

“You cannot close your eyes to the security and welfare of the people.

“It is not about politics but about human lives,” he said.

He, however, advised the state governor to make provision for palliatives measure such as cabs and other means of transportation to ease the movement of the state residents.
