In order to aid the waste management system in Edo state, the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has resolved to collaborate with Edo state.
Managing Director, Dr Muyiwa Gbadegesin, during a visit by the Edo State Waste Management Board to LAWMA headquarters, Ijora-Olopa, noted that its Edo counterpart is in need of assistance.
He also added that effective waste management and sustainable sanitation culture takes time, and that only the continuous introduction of innovative ideas, could help fight the backlogs of refuse.
General Manager, Edo State Waste Management Board, Mr Charles Imariagbe, while commending their efforts, stated that the visit was to enable learning of LAWMA techniques to eliminate waste
Meanwhile, LAWMA’s Assistant Director, Business Development and Strategy, Dr Essien Nsuabia, who spoke on the various initiatives introduced by the agency to establish cleaner and livable environment, promised that the agency is ever ready to help Edo State.
