Some group of eminent Nigerians in Ondo State named ‘Coalition 2020’ on Wednesday urged the six governors in the South-west and other stakeholders not to use the security outfit codenamed ‘Operation Amotekun’ to settle political scores.
The group said they believe in good governance as a panacea for development and economic advancement of Ondo State and its indigenes.
Coalition 2020, in its statement, advised that as the Western Nigeria Security Network is about to begin operation, it should not be a tool for vendetta.
“We see Amotekun as a welcome development, if the constitution can sincerely be looked into and amended with a view to providing the country with a more reliable and transparent electoral process that can be adjudged to have given all participants a free level of participation.
“Without doubt, electronic voting system if adopted will help reduce incessant electoral violence, ballot snatching, falsification of figures and so on and so forth,” the statement read.
