Director-General, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu, has assured Nigerians that Lassa Fever could be contained.
Ihekweazu, on Monday, in Abuja, said the Federal Ministry of Health (FMOH) through the NCDC is working rapidly to contain the deadly virus. He also warned that Nigerians should be wary of rats and contacts with them.
“To stop Lassa fever, Nigerians must focus more on improving environmental sanitation to avoid contact with rats,” he said.
He added that the centre won't stop until everyone in the country is orientated on the dangers of the deadly disease.
He said appropriate measures such as broadcasting on radio, TV, print, and community engagement would be taken to ensure proper awareness
