Shave Your Beard To Prevent Coronavirus - CDC

Teewhy

As part of the preventive measures to stop further spread of the deadly Coronavirus disease, the Centre for Disease Control (CDC) in the United States has warned against facial hairs and beards.

They advised that facial hair and beards should be trimmed to its minimum as it can interfere with respirators and face masks which are being used around the world to prevent the CONVID2019.

The CDC through an infographic illustration explained the style of beards that are compatible with masks and respirators as some style of beard won’t make the exhalation valve work properly.

Styles such as side-whiskers, handlebar moustaches, and several others are okay, but styles such as mutton chops and full beards are not recommended.

The message being put across is that hair should not cross the respirator sealing surface.
