The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Tukur Buratai, has expressed his confidence in the Nigerian troops noting that the Nigerian Military will end the Boko Haram stronghold in the north-east soon, putting an end to insurgency in the country.

Gen. Buratai, in a letter signed by his spokesman, Sagir Musa, informed the troops that they have done it before and that they will do it again without any aid from foreign troops.

The army chief who has been pressured to step down for allegedly claiming Boko Haram cannot be fully eradicated, in his letter, hailed each sector commanders and their troops for their display of courage and show of patriotism which led to the initial decimation of the leadership and ranks of Boko Haram bandits.

He asked the Nigerian troops to continue to dominate and maintain high standards of professionalism in the battle against terrorism.

He also asked them (Nigerian Army) never to give the insurgents any breathing space or freedom of action anywhere in the country.

Buratai, in his letter, claimed he has foreseen that with the renewed zeal, it will be just a matter of days before the Army put an end to the menace of Boko Haram insurgents.

He added that his confidence in total victory has further been reawaken following the determination of the troops on the ground.

“I am more confident now than ever before with your current robust posture that you will end the BHT/ISWAP menace in no distance time,” he said.
