Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Wednesday, called on residents to stop patronizing commercial motorcyclists and tricycle operators plying restricted routes.
He added that uniformed men, especially policemen, who are fond of this mode of transportation on the restricted roads will be dealt with and made to face the law.
The governor said that there would be a reinforcement of the restriction of commercial motorcycles and tricycles on roads.
“People should stop patronising them because the order was made in the interest of security of lives and safety of our people and they are the same people who end up in hospitals in the event of an accident from this mode of transportation,” he said.
The governor praised Lagos residents for supporting the restriction despite the discomfort, adding that the state government would roll out 14 and 18 seater buses next month in order to address the shortage of public buses on the inner roads.
