Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State on Wednesday was present in Argungu for the disbursement of micro-loans to 1,500 women and youths by the National Directorate of Employment (NDE).
Bagudu assured that his government will provide moral and material support to women and youths to engage in profitable ventures for economic viability.
The governor hailed that Federal Government over this move initiated through the Federal Ministry of Labour and Productivity and implemented by the NDE.
He noted that other beneficiaries of the loans which include fishermen, herdsmen, and entrepreneurs, were already enjoying enhanced business support.
Therefore, Bagudu advised the beneficiaries to judiciously utilize the loans in meeting their target objectives and ensure repayment so that others would be privileged to benefit from the initiative.
Also, the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, praised President Muhammadu Buhari and NDE for ensuring that the loans got to the people in the society to enhance petty trade.
He reiterated that the Federal, State and Local Governments have only implemented the initiative in order to improve economic activities among the populace.
