The Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, has implored contractors to deliver good jobs on record time and possibly improve on what they are doing presently.
He said this during an inspection tour of some of the major roads under construction in the state while assuring that his administration will keep to its agreement.
Uzodinma tasked the contractors to deliver quality jobs that would stand the test of time, enjoined them to increase their manpower so as to get the roads ready before the rainy season kicks off.
He said, “As a government, we will keep to our agreement with you but we expect you to deliver good jobs on record time and possibly improve on what you are doing presently.”
Some of the roads inspected by the governor included Ekemele-Okigwe Road, 5th Inland Road, Mbaise Road – Road Safety Junction, Assumpta – Port Harcourt Road, Chukwuma Nwoha Road among others.
He accused some of the contractors of politicizing the project. He warned that deliberate actions will be taken soon by the government to eject contractors who are not serious while the serious contractors would be given all necessary encouragement.
The Imo State governor assured that his “Government is making frantic efforts to identify the root causes of incessant flooding in Owerri metropolis and experts have been engaged to proffer possible solutions to the problem.”
Meanwhile, he promised to make a deliberate effort to return the state to its identity as the pride of the South East.
