The Chairman of the South-West Governors’ Forum, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, has stated that arrangements have been finalized for recruitment into the security outfit, Amotekun.
He added that training of personnel will immediately follow after the recruitment exercise.
In a statement issued through his Special Adviser on Security Matters, Alhaji Jimoh Dojumo, it was noted that the initiative would be ready for launch in the next three weeks.
He said, “All arrangements have been finalised. The training of the personnel will last for 21 days but there will be more training and retraining for them. “The recruitment and training will go together.”
He, however, stressed that the initiators are careful to avoid flaws.
“But our target time is before the end of March you will see them patrolling roads in the South-West,” he added.
Dojumo further revealed that there would be no specially designed uniform for the personnel of the security outfit.
