Funsho Akinwale

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), on Friday, said it has restricted all international flights into the country through only Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, and the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

The new directive was as a result of the Federal Government’s travel ban on 13 high-risk countries.

Captain Musa Nuhu, the Director-General of NCAA, made it known in a letter to airline operators, which was dated March 19.

Nuhu said the directive would take effect from 12 am on Saturday, March 21.

The NCAA, on Friday, re-echoed the federal government’s decision on the travel ban after shutting three other international airports.

“The travel restriction is applicable to all flight crew from the affected countries across the countries.

“All operators wishing to operate into Nigeria are required to operate with two sets of flight crew; one set to operate into Nigeria and one set to operate out of Nigeria,” Nuhu said.
