After his Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, tested positive for the coronavirus on Monday, President Muhammadu Buhari has taken the test and has tested negative.
The president was said to have subjected himself to the test after his close aide was confirmed to be a carrier of the virus.
Kyari, according to informed sources, had developed a severe cough which prompted him to go for the screening to ascertain his health status.
He was among the top government officials who traveled to Egypt enroute Germany on March 7 to seal a deal with Siemen.
According to statistics, Germany has 29,056 infections and 123 deaths while Egypt has recorded 14 fatalities from 327 cases.
