The Commissioner of Lagos State Police Command, CP Hakeem Odumosu, on Thursday, March 26, 2020, visited major markets and businesses in Lagos State to monitor compliance with the directives issued by the Lagos State Government.
The directive for the closure of all markets and stores, except markets selling food items, water, medicine, medical equipment and other related essential life-saving products, was made on Tuesday, March 24, 2020, to take effect on Thursday.
Odumosu visited eateries, financial institutions, telecommunication outlets, markets dealing in essential commodities and those dealing in non-essential commodities within the mainland and on the island.
Markets dealing in foodstuff, medicines, medical equipment and other life-saving products were seen carrying out their businesses unhindered.
All other markets were closed by the operators in compliance with the state government’s directive.
The commissioner of police used the medium to appreciate the good people of Lagos State for their patriotism in obeying the safety regulations put in place by the government. He assured citizens that they will stop the spread of COVID-19 together.
