Lagos state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode on Wednesday, 7 November 2018 was absent from Prince Charles’ visit to Lagos.
However, the deputy governor, Idiat Adebule and a few aides of the Governor received Prince Charles at the Presidential Wing of Lagos International Airport.
Many expected that Ambode would have been around to welcome Prince Charles in Lagos.
President Muhammadu Buhari gave the Prince of Wales a grand reception on his arrival in Abuja.
Thusly, this diplomatic gesture was also expected from Ambode.
Checks confirmed that the incumbent governor was busy with other state engagements while others said he was not in a good state of mind.
Happenings recalls that the embattled politician lost his 2nd term bid as Lagos state governor. Furthermore, his mother, Christiana Ambode was also hit by a stroke.
The 85-year-old woman before her predicament was full of life. Sadly she is battling to regain her health.
