The official results of the 2019 elections have started pouring in at the collation centre in Abuja from the various returning offices across different states.
The collation centre was formally declared open by the Hon. Chairman INEC, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, on Sunday as the nation awaited reports of winners of the elections in different states and subsequently the overall result.
So far, President Muhammadu Buhari of APC and former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, of PDP are the leading candidates in the results that have been announced by the returning officers of both Ekiti and Osun States.
Ekiti State, which has the least number of eligible voters, was first to conclude and announce election results, with the returning officer, Prof. Idowu Abel Olayinka, announcing that APC scored the highest number of votes in the state with 219, 231 total. PDP scored around sixty thousand less with 154, 032.
In Osun State, APC also won with 347, 634 of the votes casted, while PDP came in second with 337, 377, according to the announcement made by the state’s returning officer, Prof. Toyin Ogundipe.
