Governorship Election: Obi rallies support for PDP candidates
Peter Obi, the Vice Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party in the last presidential election, has urged Nigerians to vote en masse for candidates of the party during the gubernatorial election scheduled to hold on Saturday, March 9, 2019.
The former governor, on Monday, dropped the hint in his Onitsha, Anambra State, residence during a news conference.
The banker turned politician said in spite of the result of the presidential election, he expected the party supporters to avoid overhandedness of the military and go out on Saturday, March 9, to vote for all PDP candidates in the election.
He added that the party has swung into action to challenge the declaration of President Muhammadu Buhari as the winner of the 2019 presidential election in court.
“I believe in the rule of law and the court, and I know justice will be done on our matter when we finish filling our matter,” Obi said.
The Anambra born frontline politician, while addressing the media, further condemned the killings that marred the last election and also condoled with the aggrieved families who lost their relatives during the process.
