Action Alliance Suspends Rochas’ Son-In-Law

Jayfred Ugo

The son-in-law of Rochas Okorocha, Uche Nwosu, has been suspended by his political party, the Action Alliance [AA].

The party [AA] issued an official statement through Kenneth Uneze on Monday, June 17, insisting he [Uche Nwosu] was accused of engaging in anti-party activities and mismanaging funds.

The chairman of the Action Alliance, Mr Kenneth Uneze, claims Nwosu had “serially undermined the principle of party supremacy” and that he has been recommended for expulsion. He said:

“This is a crisis we have tried to manage in-house for a while now. We have tried to make Uche Nwosu see reasons to keep faith with the CUPP pact. But he has refused. As a party, we are bound by morality and good conscience to honour our words. This is why the NWC has decided to suspend him, and has recommended his expulsion to the NEC.

“It is absurd that Uche Nwosu has chosen to recruit a handful of our members in Imo State to disobey directives of the party. It should be stated in clear terms that any further acts that entail subversion of the will of the party shall have all the structures of the party from Ward to State in Imo dissolved."

The party on Monday, June 17, recruited The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission [EFCC], Independent Corrupt Practices and the Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC] to investigate the financial transactions of the party from 2017 till date.

However, the twist to the whole story is the latest development coming from the National Working Committee [NEC] as they have now announced the suspension of the Chairman of the party, Kenneth Udeze, and secretary, James Vernimbe, over anti-party activities too. Barely hours after the chairman suspended Uche Nwosu, the Political party [AA] is currently divided in conflict.
