Peter Nwaoboshi, the Delta-North senator and flag bearer for PDP, has been arraigned before the Code of Conduct Tribunal on three count charges of fraud and false declaration of assets.
The acting senator, Nwaoboshi, was charged to court by the federal government for allegedly making false assets declaration in the form which the senator submitted to the Code of Conduct Bureau [CCB1].
Mr Labaran Magaji, the principal state counsel at the federal ministry, has stated:
"The senator allegedly did not declare three bank accounts he was said to be maintaining with sterling Bank [Nigeria], since 2015.”
The CCB alleged Nwaoboshi’s action was contrary to section 15(1) and (2) of the Code of Conduct Bureau and Tribunal Act and punishable under the same act.
A document titled “an application to commence trial" was also presented in court alongside the other charges filed against the Delta-North senator.
