Akwa Ibom PDP Debunks Rumours Of Endorsing 2023 Aspirants

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Akwa Ibom chapter, through its Publicity Secretary, has denied rumours of Governor Emmanuel Udom endorsing an aspirant to succeed him in the coming 2023 election.

Ini Ememobong, who is the party's Publicity Secretary, has said that the rumours are baseless and should be regarded as “unripe and premature.”

“Our attention has been attracted to various articles, online and in the traditional media, suggesting that Governor Udom Emmanuel and the PDP have adopted, endorsed, encouraged or preferred an aspirant in the 2023 governorship elections,” Ememobong stated.

Ememobong, who granted the interview at Uyo when reporters approached him, stated that the party is not involved in any discussion about the 2023 election for now, as Governor Emmanuel Udom was recently sworn in for his second tenure which is barely five months.

He urged the party’s loyalists to keep supporting Governor Udom's administration for a better Akwa Ibom State. He further stressed that the public should ignore rumours, as it is premature to discuss the 2023 election when the present governor has not spent up to a year in his second tenure.
