Obaseki Removes Oshiomhole’s LG Chairman Over N46M Fraud

Austin Papi

Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has removed Yakubu Musa, the Chairman of Etsako West Local Government, over his alleged involvement in a 46 million naira fraud in the council.

Imonofi Osumah Inusa has now been sworn-in as the new Chairman of Etsako West Local Government by Governor Obaseki.

While swearing-in Osumah at the Edo Government House, in Benin City, Governor Obaseki informed those in attendance at the inauguration that a panel which was constituted by the state government, had found the former Local Government Chairman, Musa, guilty of engaging in fraudulent activities based on thorough investigations. He, thus, insisted that Yakubu Musa lacked the ability to supervise the staff of the council.

Coincidentally, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, also hails from Etsako West LGA and approved Musa as the chairman of the local government.

However, Governor Obaseki has affirmed that his administration has zero-tolerance for corruption and negligence of duty. He also assured the people of Edo State that no matter the overall developmental action taken by the state government to boost the growth of the state, the local government must also play their part. So, the state can be highly rated in terms of development among other states in the country.
