Kogi State PDP Governorship Candidate, Musa Wada, Condemns Achuba’s Impeachment

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for the November 16 governorship election in Kogi State, Musa Wada, has expressed his displeasure over the impeachment of the Deputy Governor of Kogi State.

The Kogi State Deputy Governor, Elder Simon Achuba, was impeached on Thursday by the State House of Assembly over cases of alleged gross misconduct levelled against him.

Achuba, who is the running mate of the present Kogi State governor, was impeached by the lawmakers led by Prince Mattew Kolawole.

Musa Wada has cautioned the state government over the impeachment. He urged the state government and lawmakers to stop overheating the polity as the November 16 election draws closer.

A statement signed by the Deputy Director, Public Communications Committee of the PDP Campaign Council, Mr Austin Okai, reads: “The purported impeachment is unacceptable, illegal, immodest, null and void. The decision is a complete departure from the recommendation of the panel that investigated the allegations.”

Wada further challenged the state government and lawmakers to make public the previous report of the panel constituted by the State Chief Judge, Justice Nasir Ajanah.
