An All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart in Niger State has urged the party to restrain from denying the Igbos a chance at the presidency in 2023.
Hon. Jonathan Vatsa stressed that any attempt to deny a South Easterner the number one seat of the country is tantamount to destroying the unity and peaceful coexistence of Nigeria as a country.
“I want to seriously warn that we should not take part of this country for granted. If Nigerians have a conscience, equity and justice demand that they should allow the Igbo to produce the next president come 2023,” Hon. Vatsa stated.
Vatsa, former Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, during an interview he granted in Minna maintained that it is the right of a South Easterner to become the president of the country in 2023 and not a privilege.
He further stressed that every meaningful Nigerian, whether a faithful Muslim or a believing Christian, should channel their energy towards producing a southeast extraction as the president of Nigeria.
