The running mate to the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, Mr Peter Obi, has reacted to the ruling of the apex court on the suit filed against the APC and President Muhammadu Buhari over the result of the 2019 general election.
Peter Obi, who fielded questions from the press just a few minutes after the Supreme Court struck out Atiku’s appeal, thanked Nigerians for their support from the day of the election and when the case was in court.
“This election and the judgement are not about President Buhari or His Excellency, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. It is about the future of our country and what we are going to bequeath on our children. It is about our country,” he said.
Obi stressed that they chose to take the case to court because they believed the outcome of the 2019 general election was not validated and was not the result of lawful votes cast.
The Supreme Court, after the ruling of the seven-man panel, announced that a day would be picked to explain the reason why Atiku’s appeal was nullified.
