Osun State lawmaker, Hon Bamidele Salam, representing Ede-North/Ede-South/Egbedore/Ejigbo Federal Constituency of Osun State at the House of Representatives recently held a thanksgiving prayer to celebrate his victory at the Appeal Court.
The excited lawmaker, who was pronounced winner of the February 2019 general election by the Appeal Court, called his friends and political allies for a prayer session and thanksgiving at his office in Abuja.
The Election Petition Tribunal had earlier called for a rerun in 12 polling units that were said to be affected by a high level of manipulation. Salam affirmed that it was his faith in God and the judicial system that made him appeal at the Election Petition Tribunal.
“I had many other options but I stood with Jesus and He didn’t fail me. I received several contrary counsels, some given from genuinely caring hearts, but I held onto my conviction and God showed up for me,” he stated.
In attendance were some members of the House Representatives, James Owolabi, Tolu Sadipe, Legor Idagbo, Omowumi Ogunlola, Ajilesoro Taofeek and Taiwo Oluga, among other dignitaries.
